It is easy to forget how much power affects our daily lives. Power is used everywhere; from the most mundane tasks like turning on the lights, to running complex medical devices. Unfortunately, we do not fully appreciate how much of our daily life is effected by power until we notice its absence.

During the production of power, harmful emissions are produced in the process. Thankfully, most of these emissions can be reduced, or in some cases completely neutralized ,with the utilization of emission control catalyst. Umicore’s DNX and DNO catalysts are responsible for reducing harmful emissions of over 100 gigawatts of power production worldwide.

Until today, there has been no cost-effective way to successfully ensure that an SCR catalyst meets NOx emissions reduction targets when the flue gas is at lower temperatures. But now, a catalyst with an optimal temperature range of operation between 150°C/300°F – 200°C/392°F is a reality.
