Ethylene Crackers

Ethylene cracking is a fast-growing industry worldwide as it yields the root chemical for many petrochemical products with everyday uses.  The availability of low-cost natural gas has accelerated the construction of new ethylene plants, particularly in the U.S., the Middle East, and Asia.  New ethylene crackers are often required to utilize SCR technology to control their outlet NOx.

Umicore’s DNX® catalyst is specifically designed for high DeNOx performance in ethylene cracker applications.  As a result of the cracking process, the SCR catalyst systems for these units have to be designed carefully to withstand particulate from decoking and significant deactivation from chrome poisoning.  Umicore is the market leader in SCR catalyst for ethylene crackers worldwide and continues to build its experience to provide the best solution for continuous operation.
